Welcome to Liberty Veterinary Clinic, where we provide compassionate and comprehensive veterinary care to pets in Philadelphia and surrounding areas including Manayunk, Andorra, Roxborough, Chestnut Hill, Lafayette Hill, Center City, and Germantown. Our approach to veterinary care is centered around your pet's well-being, offering a range of services from preventive care to urgent care for those unexpected moments. At Liberty Veterinary Clinic, we understand the importance of immediate attention, which is why we welcome walk-ins and offer urgent care services to ensure your pet's health and happiness.
Dr. Caroline Patten, VMD, PhD
Dr. Caroline Patten graduated from Princeton University and earned her VMD and PhD (in Neuroscience) from the University of Pennsylvania. Since graduation she has worked in greater Philadelphia as a general practice and emergency veterinarian. Dr. Patten has extensive experience in preventative care, dental procedures, emergency medicine, and soft tissue surgery. She has experience working with greyhounds as well.
Dr. Patten first fell in love with animals as a child. Through years of lobbying and negotiation, she convinced her parents to adopt a dog from the local animal shelter, a floppy-haired terrier mix whom an 8 year-old Dr. Patten named Lollipop. Since then, Dr. Patten’s love of animals has only grown. She currently shares her home with two dogs: Cruz, a pitbull/lab mix, and Mabel, a chocolate toy poodle.
Dr. Elizabeth Perone
Dr. Perone earned her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and behavior from Barnard College at Columbia University in 2001 and went on to receive her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. After completing her internship in surgery, internal medicine, and emergency/critical care at Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists in New York City, she moved to back to the Philadelphia area. She is a Fear Free certified practitioner, is certified in physical rehabilitation and massage therapy, and has extensive acupuncture training. Her goal as a veterinarian is to provide minimally stressful appointments through gentle patient handling and clear, empathetic client communication.
Dr. Andy Henry
Dr. Andy received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Muhlenberg College, and then went on to earn his degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Pennsylvania. After veterinary school, Dr. Andy completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine at Tufts University in Massachusetts. After his internship, he moved back to Philadelphia to begin his career in small animal general practice and urgent care.
His interest in veterinary medicine started with his childhood yellow lab, Korver. He showed him the unconditional love and companionship that only pets can provide. For this reason, Dr. Andy most enjoys communicating with owners and helping them navigate through problems to help both pets and owners. Dr. Andy has a dog and two cats of his own (Wesley, Mac, and Dee). In his spare time, he is an avid fan of the Philadelphia 76ers and is a four time fantasy football champion.
Meet Our Dedicated Team
Amber
Amber grew up in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia and moved to Roxborough in 2006. She has a passion for the arts and her hobbies include sketching, reading, films & music. In her spare time, she enjoys photographing her two kitties Wednesday & Clementine and sharing them on their very own Instagram page. She also raises awareness to shelter pets in need on her social media. She still resides in scenic Roxborough with her boyfriend Shawn and their daughter Hailee.
Anna
Anna was born and raised in Salem County, New Jersey. Her love of animals combined with her 10+ years of customer service experience led her to the front desk of Liberty Veterinary Clinic. In her spare time you can find her cooking or going on adventures with her husband Scott and two sons, Jackson and Mason. And let’s not forget the true king and queen of the household, Stella, the Bulldog and Blaze, the Boston Terrier.
Janelle
Janelle comes to Liberty vet clinic with almost 20 years of experience as a veterinary technician. She has gained extensive knowledge in general practice, emergency care, critical care, and has managed multiple veterinary hospitals. Some of her interests include breeding, whelping, and showing dogs. She has had the opportunity to work with both NFL and NBA clients! Janelle shares her home with her son, 5 dogs, and a rotating crew of foster dogs. She enjoys spending time volunteering with her therapy dog, Norah, at a local nursing home.
Destiny
Destiny started off as an intern through high school and worked her way up to becoming a veterinary assistant. Currently in school to become a certified veterinary technician, Destiny works diligently every day to learn, improve, and grow. She shares a home with her Pitbull Nino, her cat Cheeba, and a turtle named Queenie.
Jackie
Jackie was born and raised in Philly. She realized her passion for working with animals when she started volunteering at a greyhound rescue in 2014. She loves all animals but holds a special place in her heart for senior dogs. When not at work, she is probably either at the park with her pup, at home reading way too many books, or hanging out with her husband and two rescues, Dolly the dog and Oliver the cat.
Joe
Joseph started his career and love of pet care in 1998 at zo’s pet center and moved to veterinary medicine in 2000 at a general practice and has spent the last 23 years learning, helping our clients and furry friends. Joseph takes a special interest in teaching our future technicians and sharing in the joys of being a veterinary technician. He loves model building and spending time with his calico cats Ruhia and Mei.
